Since the 12th of September, about 15 amateur dance students have been attending lessons at this unusual, intense and ephemeral dance school, created for EVENTO 2011 by Claudia Castellucci. Devoted to rhythm, this continuous work, or “work in progress”, is visible from September 19th to October 6th at rehearsal times.
Incursions into the public space will enable the population to follow the process of this educational experiment, which focuses on rhythmical intensity and the solemnity of movements, to be reproduced in the final ballet performance.
The Grand-Théâtre of Bordeaux was inaugurated in 1780. Commissioned by the Maréchal de Richelieu and built by the architect Victor-Louis, it is a registered historic monument. The Grand-Théâtre is a masterpiece of 18th century architecture, and currently houses the Opéra National de Bordeaux.
