UNPRECEDENTED EVENTS AND COLLECTIVE WORKS

Inviting all publics to share a series of artistic events, concerts, installations, theatrical and musical performances will combine with moments of encounter and debate led by contemporary figures of literature, urbanism, economy and politics.

Among the various striking events, Looking at Others, a performance by Pippo Delbono (Italy) in the public place, and The shared City, , a series of artistic and participative workshops carried out by all generations of Bordeaux citizens in different places in the City. With the project Mobile City, the interactive web is also invited by EVENTO: this virtual network game on the Internet proposes creative citizen missions in real life, by young publics and their families. Lastly, the Bordeaux National Opera will welcome the Italian choreographer Claudia Castellucci and her ephemeral dance school that will lead to a creation of a ballet presented three times at the Grand Théâtre.

A CROSS-DISCIPLINARY MUSICAL PROGRAMME

Sound Res (Italy) will propose a meeting of musical genres, from the procession of ghetto blasters to spiritual music, by way of American minimalism, as well as a new way of sharing and composing music. Participatory concerts, parades and musical performances will stake out EVENTO’s ten-day festival, with contribution s from students of the Conservatoire de Bordeaux Jacques Thibaud and internationally renowned musicians like the New York Bang on a Can All Stars, the Czech violinist and singer Iva Bittova, David Sheppard of the Warp label (United Kingdom), the Sufi composer and singer Madan Gopal Singh, and the specialist in harmonic chants, David Hykes.
From the Grand Parc to the Submarine Base, by way of the embankments, the historic centre, the Rocher de Palmer, and the Conservatoire de Bordeaux Jacques Thibaud, this programme will enliven the public places in the city’s different neighbourhoods, as well as EVENTO’s “artistic” sites.
