Nikolay Oleynikov


Moscow based artist Nikolay Oleynikov graduated in 1996 at Theater Academy, Nizhny Novgorod ( stage design ). Since 2003 he is a member of “Chto delat?/What is to be done?” workgroup, editor for “Chto delat?” newspaper, Co-initiator of Learning Film Group, Co-initiator of May Congress, editor, contributor and translator for www.may-congress.ru . He writes regularlyarticles for Moscow Art Magazine.
Oleynikov has received international acclaim for his work as an artist together with the collective Chto Delat? and has had numerous international solo shows including Mala Galerija, Ljubljana, ARGE Kunst Galerie Museum, Bolzano, ICA, London Gallery Nova, Zagreb, Welling School, London, Paperworks Gallery, Moscow. His work has also been shown at the Fargfabriken, Stockholm, New Museum, New York, Smart Project Space, Amsterdam, Musée d´Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris – MAM/ARC, Paris, Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella, Reina Sofia, Madrid, X BALTIC TRIENNALE SYDNEY BIENNIAL and 11 ISTANBUL BIENNALE.
